Steam Trains and Otters 10km (3-4 Hours)

Service Description

If you have completed our river Awareness Session or you are looking to experience another part of our beautiful river Severn then this is a beauty. The session does include some river awareness training. This experience has less technical areas to discuss river features and practices certain techniques covered on our river Awareness session however, its one filled with stunning countryside and wildlife. We have named this one Otter Island as there is a spot where I saw my first Otter on the river Severn. Its a place where they are active but elusive. So if were lucky we might just get a glimpse. (Not Guaranteed) We will meet 30 mins prior to the session starting in the pay and display carpark (£2 Day Ticket) in Arley on the opposite side of the river to the railway. (River left). The paddle will begin in Hampton Loade at the National Trust Car Park. From there we will paddle approximately 10Km down stream to the beautiful village of Arley. On route we will stop at Otter Island in hope to see one of these incredible creatures. The route runs alongside the famous Severn Valley Railway where you will experience some amazing views as the steam trains chuff past. Hot Chocolate and Flap Jack included. Shuttle Runs As a small business and to keep prices low for our clients we do not run a mini bus service. Instead we include the shuttle runs of river running as part of the learning experience. This means that we may ask that another paddler drives to the launch point in convoy with our Guide and that another paddler is able to drive us back to the launch point. The distance between the launch point and exit is approx 5 miles and takes 10mins to drive.

Cancellation Policy

We occasionally cancel sessions due to the weather conditions and river levels - most often high winds. We will provide you with the option to reschedule at a future date. If you cancel your session within one week of the confirmed date we will be unable to offer you a full refund.
