Hampton Loade to Bewdley Guided River Awareness (4 Hour Session)

Service Description

Want to SUP moving waters on the river but unsure how ? Worried about potential dangers or planning your own adventures ? Or you just want improve your technique and get the most out of the river ? Then this is the guided tour for you ! This guided adventure will take you down the beautiful Severn Valley crossing from Shropshire into Worcestershire passing through rolling countryside with plenty of wild life along the way. The route is approximately 14km from Hampton Loade to the Market town of Bewdley passing under iconic bridges and along the route of the Severn Valley Railway. Our accredited coaches / Guides will talk you through how to plan a river adventure, safety, kit, how to read the river conditions and identify hazards. They will also provide tips on paddle / SUP techniques to get the best out of your river paddling. Our guided tour runs over a number of Grade 1 sections, participants must be 18+. This introduction to moving water will give you the knowledge and experience to plan your own adventures safely and get the must fun out of time on the water with your friends. This session is designed for those with some basic experience who also have their own equipment. You must be able to control your SUP and be able to self rescue. If you have previous experience we do have equipment for hire at a cost of £15pp, this hire fee is donated to Seaful Charity. Meeting and Transport inormation. We will meet 30 mins before session start time at Dog Lane car park, Bewdley (this is a pay and display car park) What 3 words location SECURE.DODGES.WIDTH From this location we will arrange a car shuttle between us to enable transport up river to the start point at Hampton Loade ( also pay and display). The session on the water will take approximately 3.5 to 4 hours before arriving back to Bewdley where we will arrange to collect vehicles from the launch point at Hampton Loade. Please allow 40 mins either side of the paddle to accomodate car shuttle and equipment set up. Equipment required SUP & Paddle PFD / Buoyancy aide, 50N min Quick release waist belt Short river fin (see shop, ask for details of availability) Appropriate clothing for weather conditions including footware (old pair of trainers or river shoes) Packed luch and drink Sun cream Medications – please advise location ie inhalers, epipens etc with guide We do not accept responsibly for any damage to personal equipment.
